CREATIVE CURIOSITY COMMUNITY - NATURE
ERIN.RHODE.WORKSHOP was created in 2024 by artist Erin Rhode, based in Glasgow, Scotland (originally from the little town, Honiton, Devon).
Erin studied 'Textiles: Innovation and Design' at Loughborough University where she specialised in multi-media textiles. Here, she deepened her love for experimenting with colour, texture and sustainable design.
Since graduating Erin has been a freelance arts facilitator for all ages and abilities, as well as a social action youth worker supporting young people to make positive change in their community and for the environment.

Now (alongside work as an arts facilitator), Erin takes her love for creative experimentation to the wonders of monoprint and collage - a combination that in her eyes has no limits.
Monoprinting is fast-paced and intuitive. Collage is slow and considered. Erin enjoys the contrast between the two processes because they not only complement each other, but also her character (extravert - introvert).
Erin has a real love for nature, it is her safe space that also provides a sense of adventure. She especially likes to be up high, looking afar, appreciating the feeling of freedom. And so, her current abstract landscapes depict a little snippet of this feeling that others can take away and experience, whether they can access nature or not.
Erin makes smaller artworks from the offcuts of her landscape works to minimise waste. All artwork paper/ packaging is recycled or recyclable.

At the core of Erin's work is community. Through her role as an arts facilitator and youth worker, Erin has seen how communities can build around creativity and ultimately change people's lives.
At her market stalls Erin provides mini monoprinting workshops as a way of connecting with people, sharing skills and encouraging play.
Participants can choose to donate their monoprints to Erin for her to use in a future community artwork in the form of a mega landscape, where all involved will be referenced and prints will be available to purchase. Erin hopes that this experience will help people to see that you're never too old, nor too inexperienced to make art!
